Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Secretary Blinken and Prime Minister Al Thani discussed the announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza. The Secretary thanked the Prime Minister for Qatar’s partnership and important efforts to de-escalate violence throughout the recent hostilities. He also reiterated his appreciation for Qatar’s continued assistance on Afghanistan.
